Our God reigns! Just that thought brings peace to the most hectic and chaotic of days. I’ve had deep conversations over the years with people who struggle with the fact that Jesus’ sacrifice makes them acceptable in the eyes of God. Overwhelming guilt and self awareness to the point hopelessness, keeps them from simply believing they could be fully forgiven and loved with no conditions. Here is my reply: My worth is not in myself, my abilities, what I could ever become. My worth is ONLY in the redemption of Jesus Christ. That’s all. (2 Cor.5:21, For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.) I am atoned and redeemed because of His righteousness , not because I in myself am worthy. The Word says even our righteousness is like filthy rags in comparison to His holiness! So, it’s not about you and me…never was. But about His awesome love towards us. That makes us heirs of the kingdom, partakers of the goodness of God, adopted sons and daughters of the King. We deserved not even the crumbs off the floor, but because of His amazing sacrifice, He says we can dine at His table! In Christ alone will I glory. That’s where my worthiness lies. (John 3:16)
