Biography

With the release of her first solo album, “Purpose and Passion”, Christian Singer/Songwriter Annie McRae, carries on a ministry that began ten years ago as a sister duo, the McRaes.  Annie and younger sister, Kelly, had a successful career that included three number one songs and two Dove award nominations.  Kelly left the road in 2006, after marrying drummer, Ricky Free.

Annie continued to travel and minister, all the while writing songs that would make up her debut solo record. “My new record, “Purpose and Passion”, is a chapter straight from the history of my life during the past two years.” Annie states, “Every song is a different word that God ministered to my heart. They brought healing, along with a resolve to hold on to the great Purpose and Passion that fuels my life…..Jesus Christ. I pray that these ten songs will help and sustain others as they did me!” In concert, Annie gives her powerful testimony about her deliverance from depression and encourages believers to trust God when life is hard. She also shares many stories behind the songs that she has written, such as, “He Knows My Name”, “There Is a Remedy”, and “When He Said Live”. Annie says, “I believe that sometimes the story behind the song can minister just as effectively as the song itself. I will never sing or write a song about a place that I’ve never been or any road that I’ve never walked myself. I want to say to people, “this is what God did for me and He is able to do the same for you!”‘

After ten years of traveling, Annie believes that the journey has only just begun. “There is a hurting, dying world that needs the Hope, Truth, and Life that will set them free. My goal is, and has always been, to reach those through the grace of God and His Word. He gives the song and He has made the difference in my life!”
